Released in 1974, Willamette is Fuggle’s Oregon-born daughter. It has low alpha acids (just 4-6%) and soft earth spice and fruity/floral notes. It’s the most widely grown aroma hop in the USA and it’s used in English-style Ales as well as Pale Ales, Brown Ales, Porters and Lagers. Possible alternatives would include Fuggle, Tettnanger and Styrian Golding.
