A noble finishing hop from the Czech Republic for classic and highly-drinkable Czech and German Pilsners, providing distinctive gentle earthy, grassy, subtly citric, spicy and floral notes. It’s named after the Czech city of Žatec, the German name for which is ‘Saaz’. Also used in other continental and Bohemian beers as well as some witbiers, Sterling and Tettnang are potential alternatives.
