Northern Brewer Hopped Beer

Bred in England in 1934 from a female Canterbury Golding and male American hop (OB21), it’s also grown in Germany, Belgium and the USA. Northern Brewer is a dual purpose hop with alpha acid levels of 8-10% and clean woody, minty herbaceous notes used in a very wide variety of beers from Helles and Kölsch to Porters and other ales. Possible alternatives, depending on use, could include Galena, Perle, Magnum or Chinook.
