Kohatu Hopped Beer

Only released commercially in 2011, the variety from New Zealand offers exciting tropical pineapple, citrus and earthy pine notes. One of the parents of this variety is Hallertau Mittelfrüh, which may explain why it's known to be a subtler New Zealand variety (and hence often used in larger quantities) with a comparatively more European character. It takes its name from a small village located south of the well known Nelson hop region and is perfect for IPAs.
