Brussels Beer Project Babylone

Brussels Beer Babylone Bottling Note

Babylone comes to us via the Belgian Beer Project, with part of its recipe coming from recycled bread! Fresh bread from supermarkets makes up a big portion of food waste, which is a massive shame. To put this bread to use, the brewers have it collected form the supermarkets, dried and made into usable material for brewing by local social project Atelier Groot Eiland. Inspired by an ancient recipe, the bread then forms part of Babylone, a Belgian "bread bitter" which has been dry-hopped with Chinook. Really cool, inventive stuff which has inspired a similar beer in London, too...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Crumbly biscuits, brown sugar, orange peel and a light hint of pine buds.
