Part of BrewDog's Abstrakt brand, which tend to be just a little more "boundary-pushing" than BrewDog's already radical catalogue. AB:14 is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock that they describe as being as close to banoffee pie as beer can get. Of all the nostalgic puddings BrewDog could have chosen, they hit the nail on the head and picked the best one. Top work! This is a 37.5cl bottles.
Nose: Bananas, draped in warm toffee and ice cream.
Palate: Even more bananas and toffee, this time accompanied by droplets of honey and a light touch of ginger.
Finish: The oak aging can really be noticed on the finish, balancing the lasting dessert sweetness very nicely.
Overall: It's like something you would see on an insane cooking show, where instead of a pudding, the chef presents a bottle of beer that seriously tastes like they distilled a banoffee pie. Magical!
