BrewDog combine two oak-aged beers to create Mixtape 8. In the blue corner, you'll fine a Triple India Pale Ale. In the red corner, there's a hopped up Belgian Tripel. Both of these have been aged for close to 2 years in single grain Scotch whisky casks before being blended together to create a highly complex and marvellously tasty beer. The artwork is also pretty gorgeous too. Big fans of robots, we are.
Nose: Jammy and sweet, with underlying earthiness.
Palate: Fruity notes of apricot, cherry and raisins. Subtle smoke perhaps. Buttery biscuits. Hints of vanilla and more fruit later on.
Finish: Lasting notes of strawberry jam and subtle salty wafts.
Overall: It certainly is complex, that's for sure. Doesn't stop it from being immediately yummy, though!
