Augustiner Edelstoff Bottling Note

An export strength beer from Augustiner, the oldest brewery in Munich, first brewed in 1927. Known as 'schaumig' (German for 'foamy') due to its fine foam, in Munich it's usually served with a very large head, which serves to keep the beer fresh as you enjoy it!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Vibrant and sweet with light citrus, noble hop flavour, herbal honey and sweet malt.

Sweet and Malty. Not a Typical Lager

I'm primarily an ale drinker but this is good for a lager. It's only gently carbonated and retains plenty of malty sweetness. I'm not an expert at identifying flavours and aromas but I did notice a sweetcorn aroma. There is almost no bitterness. You might be forgiven for mistaking it for a blonde ale.

Better

This is some good stuff, lively character with a good hint of citrus and sweet maltiness. Prost!
