This was distilled in 1936 at Domaine de Peyrot - an estate in the Gers region of Armagnac. It was then aged in oak for an utterly unbelievable 74 years before bottling in 2010. This is the oldest spirit we have on our site! A superb Armagnac from Francis Darroze, still remarkably fresh-tasting...
Nose: Hugely deep aromas of spice and hints of tangy acidity. Beautifully rich and balanced with walnut notes.
Palate: Hints of rancio line the palate, with huge spices including pepper, cinnamon and star anise. Very intense. Tangy fruit provides a wonderful freshness.
Finish: A long, fragrant finish. Ground mixed spices, hints of truffle and potpourri.
Overall: Astoundingly complex.
