Tokaji Aszú 2007
Tokaji Aszú is made using grapes that have been affected by botrytis (noble rot). Now I know what you're saying, noble rot doesn't sound like a good thing. Well it actually brings out more natural sugars in the grape than usual, which is great for a dessert wine like this. The grapes are subsequently macerated in a cask of new dry wine. This famous style of Tokaji is even mentioned in the Hungarian national anthem!
