Made under the careful gaze of expert winemaker Alberto Antonini, the Calcubo Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is a modern Chilean wine using grapes from the in Chile's Central Valley. 2013 was a cooler year in Chile, which has lead to wine with elegance and plenty of wonderful aromatic notes.
Fragrant blackberries appear first, although this may just have been first thing in mind after seeing the almost purple hue of this wine. Plums also make an appearance, stopping the blackberries from getting too sweet. The fruity notes of blueberry and plum fill the palate easily, leading to a fresh, lingering finish.
