Mizunara is a type of oak tree found in Japan and Yamazaki mature a portion of their Japanese Single Malt Whisky in Mizunara and blend this whisky into their various bottlings. A floral character at first with hints of beeswax and dessicated coconut. The palate is creamy with notes of nuts, floral teas and vanilla pods, followed by a long finish with notes of Acacia honey and cigar box wood about it.
One of the best whiskies of the year.
