Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Tomatin 30 Year Old whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Tomatin 30 Year Old whiskey, rather than whisky.

Tomatin 30 Bottling Note

Tomatin 30 year old is a vatting of two casks, both Oloroso sherry, chosen by Douglas Campbell, a rare release of just 1,500.

Tomatin 30 Tasting Note

The nose is full and rich. There are notes of sultanas and other dried fruits, hints of grapey acidity with winter spice and pepper. The oak is toasty and waming with notes of orange zest, caramel, hints of vanilla and notes of calves leather and cigar box. The palate is full-bodied and well-balanced. There are notes of rich fruits, particularly those of the citric persuasion, with zesty marmalade and grapefruit. There are notes of toasty oak and peppery spice with a touch of dried fruits and more feinty cigar box notes. The finish is of reasonable length with a tough of oaken aridity.
