Interesting fact… Tomatin 30 Year Old whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Tomatin 30 Year Old whiskey, instead of whisky.
The nose is full and rich. There are notes of sultanas and other dried fruits, hints of grapey acidity with winter spice and pepper. The oak is toasty and waming with notes of orange zest, caramel, hints of vanilla and notes of calves leather and cigar box. The palate is full-bodied and well-balanced. There are notes of rich fruits, particularly those of the citric persuasion, with zesty marmalade and grapefruit. There are notes of toasty oak and peppery spice with a touch of dried fruits and more feinty cigar box notes. The finish is of reasonable length with a tough of oaken aridity. ...more
