The nose is quite rich and fragrant. There is a plummy note, damson jam and a solid peat. There are some coastal notes with a citric freshness and a spiciness with cut stemmy hay. The palate is pungent and full. Notes of rich peat and thick smoke with cut hay and an earthen rooty note. There are some hints of Bramley apples, fennel and a building coastal edge with kelp. Tarry ropes and a little sweetness with espresso beans and tablet and rubbed petals. The finish is long and cirps with coastal notes.
