Talisker 2000 Amoroso Finish - Distillers Edition

Lovely malt!

a must have for Talisker fan. Fresh and spicy, with great sweet and smoky aftertaste. Orange peels, apricot/orange jam, coal fire and hint of herbs. Much different than Talisker 10YO, but nice as much. Povilas

I've been a big fan of Talisker's 10yr and this has certain similar elements but much more going on as well. It's got a bit less smoke to it but a great deal more taking its place. Great price, too. Couldn't wait to try it after bringing it home and will have to find another because this one won't last long!

Fantastic finish and smooth.

... actually that's not quite fair. It's a lot smoother and mellower than the standard 10yr old with added fruit (raisins, sultanas, xmas pudding .. something on those lines .. ); but the real deal smoky peppery talisker is still all there. Very nice. Wonder if sherry casking is to make difficult peaty smoky whisky more sellable to people who don't really like hebridean malt. I'm not a huge fan of the process. I'd give it a 5 star, but that's reserved for some Ardbegs!
