Whisky or Whiskey
What's in a name? Talisker 1999 (bottled 2010) Amoroso Finish - Distillers Edition whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Talisker 1999 (bottled 2010) Amoroso Finish - Distillers Edition whiskey, rather than whisky.
Talisker 1999-2010 DE Bottling Note
Lovely sweetness from the Amoroso sherry casks, this Talisker distillers edition is a wonderful example of the effects of peaty whisky matured in sherry casks.
Perfection in a glass
good but !!
Can't beat it
2000 blows it away far more depth

Only reason it doesn't get 10 out of 10 is because the 1998 distillers edition was so much better. Still a beautiful whiskey, but you won't find any nowadays.

Peaty and fruity, no bitterness and long as a day without a woman, very well done, right there challenging one of my Top 3, the Yamazaki 18.

I first found Talisker back in 1976 when i was working at the Kirkstile Inn Loweswater.
I was 18 then and my interest in whisky started. I have roamed around many distilleries and tasted there products but I always come back to Talisker. My son bought me a bottle of Talisker 1999 Amoroso Finish when he was there recently and I have refound my initial passion for this exquisite Brand. Nothing else compares as far as I'm concerned.

deserves patience. disliked it first comparing it to it´s bold brother, the 10yo.
well, that was only the first quarter bottle´s annoyed experience.
meanwhile this pal has not only outrun the 10er (by far), but has established itself as part of the absolute top in my personal tastings-rank.
the champagne amongst the malts.
