Insider knowledge: Speyburn 1989 (bottled 2013) - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail) whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Speyburn 1989 (bottled 2013) - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail) whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Sugary-coated almonds, thick malt and hints of vanilla. Thyme honey appears a little later on.
Palate: Orange peel sweetness, paired with baking spices and chocolate.
Finish: A medium length finish.
Overall: A lovely little Speysider, this is.
