The nose is quite citrussy, there are notes of zest and marmalade and hints of Parfait Amour. There are some tangerine notes with limes and dried fruits. Some sugared peels and crystallized stem ginger creep in. There is a gentle building peat, its quite thick but with a freshness. The palate is quite thick and full and, at first, slightly austere. There are notes of the cask, mostly in the mouthfeel, as is so often the case, but there is an exuberance of winter spice and pepper from the rich oak. Notes of peat rise with peppered heat. The finish is long and big-bodied with a hint of zest.
