This is a Linkwood from 1985 bottled by Mackillops. Mackillops take a vintners approach to selecting whisky by assessing the balance of a whisky and the sum of all its parts.
Zesty lemon and lime arrive first followed by double cream and a little wood spice.
The palate is citrus heavy and creamy with a vague suggestion of smoke.
The finish is long with notes of Seville orange, sultanas and wood smoke.
This is a complex whisky with a pleasing citrus character and a smooth mouth-feel.

We had this at our whisky club's old & rare night. It certainly represented a different take on tradtional Speysiders. As per MoM's notes there is lemon here and lots of caramel and vanilla. Some green fruits and malty biscuits. A very delicate and complicated dram
