Jura Boutique 1999 Bottling Note

Produced by the Isle of Jura, this is a lovely 1999 vintage which was distilled from heavily peated malt. It was aged in top-quality American oak up until 2006, at which time it was finished in first-fill "distillery run" bourbon barrels in warehouse number 2 - a building which comes under the effects of the intense Jura weather.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Lemon zest and cut hay. Cream vanilla and hints of fresh blossom, a little dried herbal character, and rich peat smoke.

Palate: Black pepper and allspice, hints of barley malt, orange peel, liquorice root and nutmeg. Very intense and rich.

Finish: Wood ash and spice on the finish. Hints of marzipan.

Overall: An incredibly rich, punchy whisky from Jura.
