Isle of Jura 36 Bottling Note
A sherry matured 36 year old from the Isle of Jura distillery, this was a single cask release.
There are some stemmy hay notes and a rich toffee. Whirls of smoke and surprising slab of chewy peat and malt. An earthen rooty character reveals notes of honey and fudge. The palate is full and robust. The peat is quite solid and rich with beautiful manuka honey and a syrupy mouthfeel. The smoke whirls in plumes of tumbling elegance. The finish is long and honeyed with spicy wood.
