Glengoyne 1972 Bottling Note
Part of a release of just 540 bottles distilled in February of 1972 and bottled in February of 2004, a 31 year old single cask edition from Glengoyne.
The nose is quite sweet and well-balanced. There are notes of juicy barley and toasted cereal notes. There are tones of boiled sweets and calvados, notes of cut herbs and apple blossom and winter spice, a touch of banoffee pie. The palate is light and firm. There are notes of sweet cereals and juicy barley sugars, there are hints of smooth, oily oak with a touch of cut herbs and stemmy dried hay. The finish is oaked and long with a peppered warmth.
