Glenglassaugh 1986 Bottling Note
Distilled in 1986 and aged in bourbon before being bottled Gordon and MacPhail in 2000. The Glenglassaugh distillery has recently reopened.
The nose is soft with sherried raisins and mixed peels and nuts, a little floral freshness creeps in with honeysuckle. There is a smoothness with a touch of leather and oaked tannins with toffee sweetness. The palate is quite sweet with a gentle warmth. There are notes of spicy oak and oak, but an abundance of caramel washes things out a little. The finish is of short-length with notes of caramel and soft oak.
