Bottling Note
The seventh release of Glenfarclas' incredibly popular 1981 Family Cask comes quite light in colour, thanks to its maturation in plain hogshead number 57. George S Grant of Glenfarclas describes this as "not a typical Glenfarclas"!
Nose: A sweet, honeyed nose that reminds us very much of good cherry/bourbon aromatic pipe tobacco, as well as a hint of warm toffee apples, granary toast and butterscotch.
Palate: A brilliantly sweet, fruity core which gives more than a little vanilla sweetness and spice. A touch of stewed fruits, rhubarb crumble and hot custard come to mind.
Finish: A delicate finish with good length. A touch more custard on the tail!
