What's in a name? Edradour 11 Year Old 2000 Burgundy Cask Finish - Straight from the Cask 57.1% whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Edradour 11 Year Old 2000 Burgundy Cask Finish - Straight from the Cask 57.1% whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Menthol, herbal notes, sweet spices, Port wine and honey.
Palate: Unusual and quite herbal with aromatic notes of Aussie shiraz (peppery with dark fruits), jammy and malt-laden.
Finish: Good length, hints of cinnamon and apple.
i recently had the sheer joy of being gifted a bottle of Edradour "Straight from the Cask".
this whisky has a very pleasant and gentle nose,a delightful teaser of what is to come!
the flavour is quite unique,a delightfully balanced peaty-ness yet room for the more delicate flavours of pepper, sherry and gentle fruits.
the finish is clean and enduring..
it is certainly worth securing this fine whisky and savouring it !
