Whisky or Whiskey

Insider knowledge: Crawford's 3 Star Blended Scotch Whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Crawford's 3 Star Blended Scotch Whiskey, as opposed to whisky.

Crawford's 3 Star Bottling Note

A & A Crawford was a whisky blender and merchant which established in Leith in 1860. The 3 Star blend was launched just before the turn of the century, followed by the deluxe 5 Star Blend which was launched in the 1920s.

Crawford's 3 Star Tasting Note

The nose is quite supple and light. There are notes of honey and spice with a touch of malted barley and a little oak. The palate is subdued and of medium-body. There are notes of toffee and a little smoke, there are some mixed peel notes with a nutty character. The finish is of medium-length with oak and barley sweetness.
