Coleburn 1979 Rare Malts Bottling Note
A cask strength edition, 1979 vintage, part of Diageo's Rare Malts range, this 21 year old proffers a rare chance to sample a single malt from the now closed Coleburn distillery.
The nose is floral with fragrant herbal notes and blossom. There is a soft grassiness with notes of lemon and soft smoky peat. The palate is clean and crisp with a little cereal upfront developing with spicy wood and crystallized mixed peels and toffee. The finish is peppery and warm with gentle sweetness and balancing oaky dryness.
