What's in a name? Chichibu 12 Year Old Golden Horse whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Japan. Were it from America it would be spelled Chichibu 12 Year Old Golden Horse whiskey, rather than whisky.

Chichibu Golden Horse Bottling Note

By gosh by golly, hold on to your horses. It's a super rare Chichibu, bottled by Golden Horse. This was bottled at cask strength in July 2008, and all the bottlers are numbered. Expect a lot of complexity and flavour.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Notes of oak and iodine, some smoke and peanut butter, and soft, oily peat. Very unusual. Hard to peg this one down.

Palate: Oily and peaty, with a lot of coastal notes going on. Hints of salty butter on toasted crumpets, and a little almond oil late palate. Very spicy!

Finish: Spicy with chili warmth and a hot slab of peat now. Like an explosion! Really very good indeed.
