Nose: A meaty barbeque of a nose with charred steak and honey glazed bacon rind leading to charcoal ash and a whiff of seaweed.
Palate: Sooty and earthy leading to barley and smoky bacon.
Finish: Toffee and peat relaying to the finish line.
Overall: This Caol Ila for a peated, 50%abv whisky is a smooth operator and surprisingly mellow without compromising on the smoky goodness.
