Octomore 04.1 Bottling Note

Peated to 167 PPM, Octomore 4.1 is an intense, unusual whisky from Bruichladdich which Jim Murray awarded a very impressive 92 points, commenting on its chocolate-rich flavour he described it as "Choctomore." As of late 2011, this is the peatiest whisky in the world!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Peat smoke, burning lavender, warm earth, sage, rosemary, floral notes, some sweetness, vanilla and cocoa.

Palate: Vanilla, sweet cereals, warm slabs of tangy peat, young maltiness and chili spice. Notes of Nutella spread as well as walnut loaf, caramelised bananas and dark chocolate.

Finish: Great length, with the warming, spicy peat notes tingling the tongue for minutes.
