The Black Douglas 1970s
This is an antique bottle of The Black Douglas 8 Year Old blended Scotch whisky, produced in the 1970s. The blend was named after James Douglas, Lord of Douglas, a brave Scottish warlord who befriended Robert Bruce, earl of Carrick who eventually became the King of Scots. When Bruce died, his heart was cut out and Douglas carried it around with him in a silver casket placed around his neck. In the battle that would be his last, Douglas went down swinging after throwing the casket at his enemies. What a champ.
