What's in a name? Benromach Peat Smoke Batch 2 whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Benromach Peat Smoke Batch 2 whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Fresh, balanced. Wet sand on a beach, earthy. Citrus. The "peat smoke" is, as of yet, very gentle.
Palate: Perfumed, fruity and oily. More peaty than expected. Damp ash.
Finish: Wood shavings, dry and smoky, some fruit.
