Insider knowledge: Benromach Peat Smoke Batch 2 whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Benromach Peat Smoke Batch 2 whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Fresh, balanced. Wet sand on a beach, earthy. Citrus. The "peat smoke" is, as of yet, very gentle.
Palate: Perfumed, fruity and oily. More peaty than expected. Damp ash.
Finish: Wood shavings, dry and smoky, some fruit.
