What's in a name? Benrinnes 1997 - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon and MacPhail) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Benrinnes 1997 - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon and MacPhail) whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: A nutty nose. Cake icing and sharp kiwis.
Palate: Advent calendar chocolate, milky and sweet. Slightly hot, though apple juice notes cool it down quickly.
Finish: Apples and pears (the fruits, not stairs).
Overall: Lovely stuff. Well balanced.
