A big, brooding, smoky, smouldering dram from Benriach, this was distilled in 1984 and aged for 27 years in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask. It was bottled at natural cask strength.
Big peat smoke notes on the nose, with hints of manuka honey and dried peels. Notes of potpourri, dried dates and charred oak.
Coffee beans and hints of toffee apples. A little savoury, oily peat smoke, with cocoa and thick, fruity honey.
Long finish with mince pies and charcoal.

This is a fantastic bottling by BenRiach. Big nose, huge flavour impact and a long finish. If you're like me and loves the combination of sherry and peat, this is spot on. Kind of reminds me of older Bunnas. I scored it 92. If the nice chaps at MoM would find another bottle or two I wouldn't complain...
