Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Ardbeg Supernova 2009 (Stellar Release) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America its name would be Ardbeg Supernova 2009 (Stellar Release) whiskey, instead of whisky.

Ardbeg Supernova Bottling Note

The most heavily peated Ardbeg ever released. In our humble opinion, this is the best of the heavily peated whiskies available today. Top tip - this whisky makes a lot more sense if you 'build up' to it with several other Ardbegs first.

Ardbeg Supernova Tasting Note

Nose: Incredible aroma, top quality tequila, toffee, vanilla. Quite sweet, youthful. Peaty, but not what you'd expected. Floral, dry.
Palate: Mescal, chili, smoked paprika, medicinal, huge peat. Very big fruit, sweet.
Finish: Massive spices, peppercorns, charcoal, chili, nutmeg.
Comment: Incredible!

Not Bad Ardbeg

Rating (1.5)

Youthful, good peat, 1 dimensional. alright but give me corryvrecken anytime.

A great, complex whisky.

Rating (4.5)

Having just tasted this blind, I was blown away by the complexity of this whisky and the length of the finish. If you like a peaty whisky then you can't go wrong with this one :-)
