Old Fashioned 2013 Bottling Note

Bottled in 2013, this is a vintage, handmade Old Fashioned Cocktail based on a superb 9 year old small batch bourbon with a very high rye content. To this a secret blend of bitters and orange peel is added, and the result is buttery, spicy, zesty and rich.

The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a slice of orange peel). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.

To serve, simply fill a tumbler with ice, pour in a large measure of The Old Fashioned Cocktail, stir, and add a twist of orange peel (expressed over the glass).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Spiced, zesty aromas. Hints of marmalade, allspice, dried herbs and cocoa.

Palate: Rye spice and linseed oil, hints of orange peel, sweet cinnamon and dark chocolate. Creamy caramel, vanilla and potpourri.

Finish: Bittersweet finish with orange peel, fragrant woods and hints of rum spice.

Overall: A perfect Old Fashioned cocktail just became easier to make!
