Negroni Cocktail 2012 Bottling Note

Made using premium-strength gin, distilled in England in copper pot-stills, this Negroni also uses premium Sweet Vermouth, and equal measures of Campari and Aperol for a balanced flavour. Mixed in ultra-small batches by those handsome devils at the Handmade Cocktail Company.

The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a healthy slice of fresh orange). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Lovely herbal bitterness with orange and lemon zest. Very citrusy with a good grounding of earthy juniper.

Palate: Good gin taste of fresh herbs with the sweet vermouth offering a bit of cinnamon.

Finish: The Campari bitter herbs provide the finishing notes, combining with juniper sweetness.

Overall: A great negroni, with the sweet vermouth and Campari perfectly poised over the gin.
