World's Best 2013 Bottling Note

This is a recreation of a true classic which was first invented in a famous New Orleans coffee house. Produced by The Handmade Cocktail Company, this was based on a recipe which uses a 50:50 mix of rye-rich bourbon and VSOP Cognac. This was naturally sweetened, and spiced with a dose of Peychaud's bitters. Finally, just a hint of Absinthe was added. This was bottled in 2013.

The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed. All you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a twist of lemon peel). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Rich, intense aromas of bourbon spice and overripe grapes. Sultanas, pepper and creamy vanilla. A little aniseed.

Palate: Soft and creamy delivery with a peppery spice note from the rye-rich bourbon. Delicious notes of morello cherry, allspice and star anise.

Finish: Long, creamy finish with notes of vanilla and aniseed.

Overall: A fabulous take on a classic cocktail.
