Chartreuse Anisette 1976
Anisette made by Chartreuse in 1976 at the distillery in Tarragona, Spain. The monk at Chartreuse were expelled from their grounds in France in 1903 and moved to Spain to start again. This distillery lasted up until 1989, although distilleries that made the actual Chartreuse herbal liqueur did open in France again in the mid 1900s. A rare, anise-flavoured piece of history.
The label looks to have been stuck on a bit wonky, and there also seems to have been another label placed atop it, though this other label has faded heavily over the years.
