Gin and Jenever

Gin and Jenever are both spirits whose dominant flavouring is the juniper berry. The latter, Jenever, is much more like the grandfather of today’s gins, which are considerably more refined. Jenever is a more rustic, almost whisky-like spirit, distilled from malt wine. It is much richer and maltier because of it. Gin, on the other hand, is essentially vodka with juniper and other botanicals used to flavour it.
