Arthur Bell & Sons founds the distillery as a sister distillery to Dufftown-Glenlivet.
1975
Production starts.
1985
Guinness Group acquires Bell’s
1987
United Distillers is formed by merging Bell´s and Distillers Company Limited (DCL) - which Guinness bought in 1986.
1991
The first official bottling is launched, a 12 year old in the Flora & Fauna series.
1993
The distillery is mothballed.
1994
Gordon’s begins gin distilling on a trial basis in November to evaluate the feasibility of Pittyvaich backing up the Laindon facility.
2002
The distillery closes and part of the equipment is sent to Clynelish.
