Alexander Wilson & Co. founds the distillery. Equipment from the disused Tochieneal Distillery, also owned by Alexander Wilson, is installed.
1936
Alexander Wilson & Co. becomes bankrupt and Buckie Town Council buys the distillery and the family’s home for £1,600.
1938
The distillery is sold on to Arthur Bell & Sons for £3,000.
1966
Capacity doubles to four stills.
1985
Guinness acquires Arthur Bell & Sons.
1987
United Distillers is formed by a merger between Arthur Bell & Sons and DCL.
1997
Inchgower 1974 (22 years) is released as a Rare Malt.
