The distillery is licensed under the name Burnfoot Distilleries by the Edmonstone family.

1851

George Connell is replaced as licensee

1867

Archibald C. McLelland takes over.

1876

Lang Brothers buys the distillery and changes the name to Glenguin.

1905

The name changes to Glengoyne.

1910

Own floor maltings ceases.

1965

– Robertson & Baxter takes over Lang Brothers and the distillery is refurbished.

2001

Glengoyne Scottish Oak Finish (16 years old) is launched as the first single malt stored in Scottish oak casks.

2003

Ian MacLeod Distillers Ltd buys the distillery plus the brand Langs from the Edrington Group for £7.2 million.

2004

A 12 year old cask strength is released.

2005

Relaunch of Scottish Oak Finish (15 years old). Limited editions of a 19 year old, a 32 year old and a 37 year old cask strength are launched.

2006

Nine “choices” from Stillmen, Mashmen and Manager are released. The 10 and 17 year olds are relaunched.

2007

A new version of the 21 year old, two Warehousemen´s Choice, Vintage 1972 and two single casks are released.

2008

A 16 year old shiraz cask finish and a 40 year old are released.
