Irish Blended Whisky

Irish Blended Whiskeys offer tremendous value for money, and are amongst the country's most popular exports, and brands such as Bushmills and Jameson can be found everywhere across the world. Blended whiskeys in Ireland are made from both grain and malt whiskey and the reason for the use of grain whiskey is that it is much cheaper to produce, and can be made in the considerably more efficient Column Still, as opposed to the Pot Still which is used in the production of Malt Whiskey. Whilst grain whiskey is cheaper to make, it also offers much less flavour and complexity, so it is down to the master whiskey blender to use the right malt whiskey to result in a complex and enjoyable blend.
