Whisky is matured in a range of oaks, from the American and European to the more unusual Truffle and Burr oak. Oak is of key importance in whisky, for it imparts such flavour, and even proffers the cork. Many of our whiskies have spent a good quantity of time in oak,... including our 40 year old whiskies. These are very well aged, and thus extremely rare. These are in limited supply and offer an outstanding amount of oaken maturity and complexity. These are collector's items. We have 40 year old grain whiskies. We have some blended grain whiskies; grain whiskies produced at more than one distillery and blended, and single grain whiskies; grain whiskies from a single distillery. These well aged whiskies offer a wide variety of flavour, and at this age, superb balance is often attained.
