Whisky derives from the Gaelic 'Uisge beatha', meaning 'water of life', itself from the Latin, Aqua Vitae, also meaning 'water of life'. We have some delightful 30 year old whiskies. Whiskies of this age have had plenty of oak contact, and thus often proffer a great refinement. These are truly connoisseur's whiskies. Why not sample one of our Lowland whiskies. These are gentle, delicate whiskies, often referred to as the 'Lowland ladies'. Floral notes abound, with deft balance. As a whisky is not said to age in the bottle, the age statements refer solely to the amount of time the whisky has spent in an oak cask.
