Master of Malt’s whiskies have won a number of top awards at the International Spirits Challenge and Scotch Whisky Masters.
The results from two prestigious blind whisky tasting competitions have recently been revealed, the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) Tasting Awards for whisky and The Scotch Whisky Masters from The Spirits Business. Master of Malt’s whiskies picked up a number of awards in these competitions.
Both the Master of Malt 40 Year Old Speyside and 30 Year Old Speyside from their Secret Bottlings range received Gold Medals from the ISC, with the 40 year old deemed to be Best In Class for 2013.
The Master of Malt 8 Year Old Blend won a Master Medal at The Scotch Whisky Masters (a higher accolade than a Gold), the only Master Medal awarded in the category of blends under 12 years old. Invergordon – Batch 1 from That Boutique-y Whisky Company (Master of Malt’s independent bottling label) also collected a Master Medal, one of only two awarded in its class.
Silver Medals at the International Spirits Challenge were awarded to the Master of Malt 50 Year Old Speyside (3rd Edition) as well as the Spirit of Hven Seven Stars No.1 Dubhe Single Malt Whisky from Sweden, exclusively distributed in the UK by Master of Malt.
Another Gold Medal, this time from The Scotch Whisky Masters, was scooped by Aberlour – Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company), whilst Silver Medals in this competition were picked up by Clynelish – Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company), Boxes Blend, St Isidore, and Blended Malt Number One – Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company).
Ben Ellefsen, Sales Director at Master of Malt said, “We’re absolutely chuffed and humbled to be recognised by these two well-respected institutions.”
Each of these whiskies is available for purchase on the Master of Malt website. The full results of the awards are listed below.
